Tony & Nicki's relationship philosophy first hit the papers way back in 2004 when journalist Mernie Gilmore wrote a two-page feature for the Daily Express about how Nicki Vee set herself a year to find a husband/soulmate...
At their talks, seminars and retreats one of the first questions the audience is asked is: "When you think of your intimate relationship, on a scale of zero to ten, ten being it's the best it can be and zero being its terrible what number comes to you"?
Sadly ten's are super rare, five's and six's are common and those struggling always score four or less; you even get the odd minus score. When interviewed by journalists they often pose them the question so they get a real sense of the power of this question.
When Tony & Nicki started sharing their stories and learnings of how they overcame appalling relationship situations in the past, their biggest takeaway was they themselves were a major contributor to the problem, and the solution was 'Education'.
And let's be honest, when we were at school, essential elements for a successful life were completely left off the curriculum. These include how to live in a loving, intimate relationship, how to be a great parent, how to run your family finances and intimacy itself.
Having coached and counselled an untold number of people since those early days and with Covid forcing them onto Zoom instead of face-to-face, Tony & Nicki have created what they call 'The Couple Intimate Relationship Education Program'.
Like anything that's failing, there are clues and patterns; relationships are no different. And when a couple on the program starts to turn things around, one of the most common comments is, "we simply did not know what we did not know".
If you judge their work, it looks contentious, yet when challenged, and if you are 100% committed to sorting things out, you learn what you are doing that is not working, and difficult situations get turned around, and many failing relationships start to flourish.
